Albeit this month’s topic is being posted much later than I planned to announce it, I think it’s worth it. Especially for those of us that are still developing web and mobile device apps either full or part time.
I am so excited to announce our first free Microsoft Certification Exam open discussion and study group!
Jyoti Chawla and I will focus this month’s meeting on
- Tutorial’s using software you may or may not already be using to develop cross-browser web apps and cross-platform mobile apps.
- Q and A on topics and questions on the exam, and
- Getting everyone together and organized to develop a repository of support and resources for this exam and beyond.
- Online tools you may not be aware of yet.
Still, this is an open discussion, and everyone who has experience developing Web or Mobile Apps with HTML5 and CSS3 is invited to speak!
Please prepare for this meeting early by going to Prometric now and sign up for the exam using the promotional code HTMLJMP and pay NOTHING for the exam! (150.00 value) –
Don’t worry if you think you are unprepared for the dates they offer, just sign-up before this code expires, you have the option to return to Prometric’s website and reschedule later in the year as long as it’s more than 2 weeks before your exam date.
Don’t worry if you can’t attend the meeting and still want to use the promotional code and catch up with us later on. Also if there’s someone close to you that you would like to share the code, feel free and help them become more professionally marketable.
The ebook’s companion content is here: http://go.microsoft.com/FWLink/?Linkid=270057.
Some tutorials will be from this book. Also, because this is a last minute topic, if you find running an interesting example from the book or your own, it would be awesome if you bring your laptop and show the group! 🙂
Finally, Register for our meeting at Meetup.com and come to our meeting which will of an open discussion regarding the topics of the exam, and an exchange of ideas and resources on each section as well as tutorials showing examples of Exam topics using
- Microsoft’s Visual Studio and Expression Blend,
- Telerik’s Kendo UI and Icenium, and
We would also like to take a little time to develop study groups and mentoring within our group at this meeting, as well as resource and book sharing, and invite our members who have taken them exam to offer their experiences to the rest of the group by attending this or future meetings or posting online.
This exam is the first step to earning the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer MCSD: Web Applications certification. It was created for developers who want the skills to build applications demanded in today’s market using MVC, Azure, HTML5, and CSS3.
Candidates must pass the following three exams to earn the MCSD: Web Applications certification:
- 70-486: Developing ASP.NET 4.5 MVC Web Applications
- 70-487: Developing Windows Azure and Web Services
The exam as well as our presentation will not be company specific, however because we are an Architects’ User Group, the examples will utilize MVC patterns as they pertain to ASP.NET.
You also might want to register for this Microsoft Learning JumpStart Class to view and prepare after the meeting.
