February 2, 2012 § 2 Comments
This meeting has passed but I would like to mention and append this blog posting that Brian posted his meeting’s presentation on SlideShare for the group. You can find it here, http://www.slideshare.net/brianritchie1/cqrs-command-query-responsibility-segregation.
Thanks again Brian, TekSystems and MindScape for everything!
Meeting Start Time: 6:00 PM (pizza & networking), 6:30 PM (presentation)
I am excited to present to the JaxArcSIG group Brian Ritchie as our February’s speaker.
Many developers in Jacksonville know Brian already from his his popular presentations: most recently, Hosting Windows Services in IIS, for the guys at JaxDUG a few months ago, and also his sessions at the Jacksonville Code Camps.
On February 28th we will host Brian’s newest presentation on CQRS – Command Query Responsibility Segregation.
The foundation of CQRS is the idea that you can use a varied model to update information than you use to read it. It is all about opening different pathways to read and update. If you are not already familiar with the CQRS pattern yet, this post by Martin Fowler on CQRS: http://martinfowler.com/bliki/CQRS.html will get you up to speed before the meeting.
Please register for this session at our Meetup Page: http://www.meetup.com/JaxArcSIG/ so we know how many pizzas and sodas to bring for the attendees. And as always we invite all developers with a desire to learn to attend.
